Lions boss reckons this player produced “masterclass” in win over West Bromwich Albion

Millwall manager Neil Harris reckons Lee Gregory produced a “masterclass” in how to play the loan striker role in Saturday’s 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

The Lions frontman had a big chance to score a third goal but his shot was kept out by the right knee of Baggies stopper Sam Johnstone.

Harris said: “It was one of the best all-round centre-forward displays I’ve seen in the league this year, without the ball hitting the net.

“It’s fair to say his closing down, his movement off the ball, link-up play in the middle zone but also the final third was excellent. His desire and work ethic got him the chances he created.

“Unfortunately he couldn’t score but when the team wins 2-0 then everything else is more important. They’ll be moments in games we need him to get goals for us and he’ll deliver for us. Saturday we didn’t need it.

“But on Saturday he delivered a masterclass in how to play as a lone striker in a 4-3-3.”
