London Broncos enduring tough baptism to life in Super League
London Broncos are yet to put a Super League point on the board after a 34-0 defeat at home to Catalan Dragons on Friday night.
The Plough Lane-based club kicked off life back in the top flight with a 40-4 loss at St Helens earlier this month.
The only try scored by Broncos came from Robbie Storey at Saints, who are 10-time Super League champions.
The fixture against Dragons was Broncos’ first Super League fixture in the capital since 2019.
Broncos lead coach Mike Eccles said: “It’s been a tough two weeks – bested in every area today (Friday) by a very, very good team.
“We couldn’t have had a much harder start but it is a great yardstick for us. We know the level – it is a very, very high level.
“Last week we should have scored three or four tries at St Helens – 100 per cent. There were a couple there where I thought ‘how did we not score or convert there?’ Not today.
“We didn’t create any chances or create any pressure.”
