London Broncos make Dalton Grant fourth off-season signing

Versatile winger Dalton Grant has become London Broncos’ fourth off-season signing after agreeing a fresh deal at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

The 32-year-old Welsh international joins 2022 teammates Wellington Albert, Paul Ulberg and Alex Walker in the Broncos’ Championship squad for next season.

Grant scored five tries for the Broncos from 19 appearances this season and was an influential substitute in the club’s historic come-from-behind win against Sheffield Eagles in July.

After playing a key role in the Broncos’ encouraging second half of the season, Grant revealed he is thrilled to be back for another year.

I’m chuffed to be back next season,” said Dalton. “This year was mixed for the team, but we found some form from June onwards which injected some fresh confidence into the squad.

I adapted well to my role in the centre and enjoyed playing in front of our supporters, who were great all season. Our win against Sheffield in Kent was really special and a game I’ll never forget for the rest of my life.

I really like the look of the team Mike is putting together and look forward to starting pre-season with everyone.”

Director of rugby and performance Mike Eccles was impressed by Grant’s versatility and believes he has more to offer when playing in his true position on the wing.

Dalton played really well through the second part of our recent campaign,” said Eccles. “His versatility is absolutely key for us, and we’re yet to see him play as a winger which is his best position.

Dalton did an amazing job in the centre for us this season and he offers some strike and pace on the edge. He has a real instinct for scoring tries which I really love and is key for any team regardless of the level they play at.

I’m pleased to retain his services and look forward to working with Dalton again next season.”
