Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola makes Crystal Palace admission ahead of Selhurst Park visit

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted that his side struggle to pick up results against Crystal Palace.

The Eagles picked up four points against Guardiola’s side last season – winning 2-0 away at The Etihad and drawing 0-0 at Selhurst.

City won the reverse fixture 4-2 in August. The South Londoners went 2-0 up, but an Erling Haaland hat-trick and a goal from Bernardo Silva gave City all three points.

Palace are the only side in the Premier League in 2023 without a win.

City are second in the league table and five points behind league leaders Arsenal.

“He’s done a really good job with Crystal Palace,” the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss said of Vieira.

“In the Premier League, every game is always difficult.

“Selhurst Park has always been difficult- definitely.

“We have struggled a lot – especially at home – against Crystal Palace.”

The Spanish boss also confirmed that Phil Foden – who had an ankle issue after the game against Newcastle- will be available for selection.

Kyle Walker, who is being investigated by Cheshire Police over allegations he indecently exposed himself in a Wilmslow bar, will also be in the City squad.
