Manchester United loanee Dylan Levitt set to make Charlton debut in League Cup tie at West Ham
BY LOUIS MENDEZ
Lee Bowyer has revealed that Manchester United loanee Dylan Levitt will make his Charlton debut in the EFL Cup trip to West Ham United on Tuesday evening.
The 19-year-old midfielder arrived at The Valley on a season-long loan during the week but was an unused substitute for the 2-0 League One opening day win at Crewe Alexandra.
“I will make changes, for sure,” explained Bowyer, ahead of his return to the club he spent two spells with as a player.
“I’ll definitely make changes. Dylan Levitt, he’ll start. He’d only trained with us two days, Thursday and Friday, so it wouldn’t have been fair to throw him in at the deep end [at Crewe]. Now, he’ll have another couple of days with us training and he’ll be in on Tuesday.
“I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been to watch games [at London Stadium] when I’ve been to watch West Ham’s u23s but I’ve never been there on this side or as a player. It’ll be nice. It will be a good test for the players.
“Like when we played Arsenal when we came back from lockdown, it’s a good test for them. To see what the difference is, what these players will do differently to our players. It’s a good learning curve. I’m looking forward to it.”
