Mark Warburton spells out transfer situation in relation to two QPR players

Mark Warburton says Queens Park Rangers cannot get to a stage where players leave with “no value” for the club as speculation continues over two stars’ futures.
Bright Osayi-Samuel started, while Ryan Manning was left out, as Rangers rescued a 1-1 draw at home with Middlesbrough.
Osayi-Samuel got the hosts back on level terms following Chuba Akpom’s opener.
Both players are in talks with the club over new deals, as their current ones expire next summer, but Warburton believes QPR must do what is best for the club.
He said: “We’ve got to be consistent to the players, that’s really important. We can’t be inconsistent because, quite rightly, any individual would jump on that but we’ve got to do what is right for the club as well.
“We can’t be in a situation whereby we get to the end of the season in May and players will walk away with no value for QPR. It’s happened for too long at the club and, as I say, we’ve got to make sure we look after the wellbeing of the club. It’s really important.
“If players commit, fantastic. They want to be here, fantastic. I’m not being derogatory to the players concerned, in any shape or form. These guys are training well every day, no problem at all with them, they are really good guys and I have got enormous respect for them, but we have got to do what is best for QPR as well.
“That’s the key point.”
