Marriott opens Bromley goal account as they earn National League win over Eastleigh
Adam Marriott scored his first goals for Bromley as they fought back to beat Eastleigh 2-1 last weekend.
The 31-year-old striker signed for the Ravens in June after rejecting a new contract at Barnet.
Marriott hit 20 goals last season and was voted the north London club’s Player of the Season.
And he produced two clinical finishes in each half to wipe out Tristan Abrahams’ second-minute opener at Hayes Lane.
Bromley’s fourth win of the season moves them up to eighth in the National League table, only outside the play-offs on goal difference. They head to unbeaten Notts County on Saturday.
“Adam has been chomping at the bit and showed what he’s about today [Saturday],” said Ravens manager Andy Woodman.
“If it falls to him he’s going to put it in the back of the net. That’s the quality we wanted to put alongside Cheeky [Michael Cheek] up top.
“Hopefully we can get them both firing and racking up the goals, start being a bit more ruthless in front of goal. Adam was certainly that today [Saturday].
“We gifted them a poor goal early doors but we showed good character. When you go a goal down that early on you fear they’ll score another one and then it is an uphill struggle.”
