Millwall 1 Blackburn 0 – Lions win at Den for first time since mid-January as play-off chase still on
Millwall recorded back-to-back Championship wins for the first time since the turn of the year to ensure they still have hope of reaching the play-offs.
Mason Bennett’s second goal since arriving on loan from Derby County was enough to settle Tuesday night’s contest.
The result moves the Lions up to seventh in the table and two points behind sixth-placed Cardiff City, who defeated Derby County 2-1.

Bennett was on hand to finish from close-range when Tom Bradshaw’s scuffed attempt fell into his path following good work by Jed Wallace.
It is Millwall’s first league win at the Den since January 18. They had drawn four and lost three of their seven recent outings in SE16.
Shaun Hutchinson prodded wide from close-range in the 17th minute from a Jed Wallace corner.

Millwall did a good job of containing Blackburn and created more chances in the second period, with Rovers keeper Christian Walton saving at his near post from Jed Wallace and Tom Bradshaw.
With the hosts limiting their opponents, it meant Adam Armstrong had to do a whole lot better when the ball dropped to him in the box but his finish did not unduly trouble Bartosz Bialkowski.

The Poland stopper was quickly off his line to deny substitute Sam Gallagher from getting on to Joe Rothwell’s threaded pass.
Millwall manager Gary Rowett was clearly unhappy that referee John Brooks had added seven minutes of stoppage time.
And Joe Rankin-Costello went close with the final kick of the contest, but saw his right-footed strike inside the box just go past the far post.
