Millwall aiming for deadline day deal for West Bromwich Albion striker

Millwall are looking to conclude a deadline day loan deal for West Brom striker Kenneth Zohore.

Lions boss Gary Rowett is an admirer of the 26-year-old Dane, who reportedly cost the Baggies £8million when he signed from Cardiff City in July 2019.

Zohore has not featured for the Midlands club in the current campaign.

He has scored 26 goals in 94 Championship matches – including 10 assists.

Zohore netted 24 times in 101 outings for Cardiff City.

He has also had spells with IFK Goteburg, FC Copenhagen, Brondby IF, Odense Boldklub and Fiorentina Primavera.

Rowett was keen to add to his frontline options with Troy Parrott unlucky with injuries since he was signed on a temporary transfer from Tottenham.

The on-loan Republic of Ireland international was due to report back to the Lions today after heading back to Spurs for treatment on an ankle injury.

But Parrott is unlikely to feature in the next run of Championship fixtures before the next international break.

Zohore only made 20 outings for the Baggies last season – 17 of those in the league – as they won promotion to the Premier League.

He scored in their FA Cup third round victory at Charlton and also netted as they were knocked out by Newcastle in the fifth round.

Zohore only played 50 minutes of Championship football after the end of January due to a calf injury which ruled him out of 15 of their final 17 matches.
