Murray Wallace was set for a scan on Thursday to determine the full extent of the injury he suffered at Hull City on Tuesday night – with Millwall expecting their FA Cup hero to miss tomorrow’s visit of Championship leaders Norwich City

Winger Ben Marshall is already unavailable as part of the loan agreement between the two clubs.

But left-back Wallace is a fresh setback for the Lions after he hurt his knee and ankle at the KCOMStadium. Mahlon Romeo has been unwell and did not travel for the 2-1 defeat.

Asked about injuries, Millwall manager Neil Harris said: “The major one is Murray Wallace. He is certainly not going to be fit for Saturday. He’ll have a scan today [Thursday] on his ankle and possibly his knee, just to assess the damage from there.

“Fingers crossed it is not going to be a serious one, but he’s not going to be back in the near future. I don’t want to speculate on things but he has been in some pain and it looks like we’re not going to see Murray in the short term.

“Mahlon was ill at the weekend and he has not trained this week. We’ll have to check before Saturday to see if there is any improvement.”

Right-back Conor McLaughlin (quad) played in a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday and is due to feature for the U23s today.

“He won’t be considered for first-team selection until he is up to match speed,” said Harris. “That certainly rules him out of this weekend.

“We have been unfortunate this season with the injuries we’ve had – they’ve quite often been to players in the same position.”
