Millwall attacker Aidomo Emakhu set to pen contract extension

Aidomo Emakhu is set to sign a new contract at Millwall.

The 20-year-old joined the Lions in the 2023 January transfer window.

Emakhu, capped at U21 level by the Republic of Ireland, made his debut in February against Burnley in the Championship. A hamstring injury suffered the following month ruled him out of the remainder of the season.

The prospect has built on that in the current campaign with 16 appearances – 15 of those in the league – including opening his account for the Lions with an excellently-taken goal in the 3-1 defeat at Norwich City in August.

He also assisted Romain Esse for his winner at Middlesbrough on the opening day of the Championship season.

Emakhu has been an unused substitute in the last two fixtures but is set to get more game time over the festive period.

He told our paper in July: “Playing in England was always a dream of mine. The best football is played over here. I’m grateful for Millwall taking me in.

“I’m enjoying every moment. I want to learn as much as I can and see where it takes me. Hopefully that will be at the highest level one day.”
