Millwall boss confirms enquiries as domestic transfer window starts to hot up

Millwall manager Gary Rowett says that there have been enquiries for some of his squad as the domestic transfer window starts to hot up.

The Lions have done nearly all of their incoming business unless there are outgoings.

Millwall are ready to move on Icelandic international striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson while Rowett has already confirmed recently that there are guaranteed EFL loan moves for young trio Alex Mitchell, Tyler Burey and Isaac Olaofe.

Asked about potential outgoings, the Lions chief said: “We’ve had three or four enquiries. Most clubs are just starting to be a little bit more active now – you’ve seen that in the market. Now the Euros have finished there is that little ripple effect of the Premier League starting to move on one or two things, that then spreads down.

“We’ve had nothing of any level that would make us think ‘let’s have a little look at that’.

“In particular the younger ones, but at the moment we’re mindful we don’t want to let all of them go right now and leave either us short or them with a lack of opportunity in pre-season to show us what they can do.

“Someone like Alex Mitchell is a classic example. He’s been with us all pre-season and he’s been really impressive. We could easily send him out on loan, but we’ve got that debate of whether we keep him around for a few more months, get him involved and see if that benefits him as well.”
