Millwall boss gives his verdict on Tyler Burey’s transfer to OB Odense
Millwall manager Gary Rowett reckons that a “change of environment” could bring out the best in Tyler Burey after the winger left Millwall earlier this week.
The 22-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Danish club OB Odense, joining for an undisclosed fee.
The Lions have a sell-on included in the deal.
“It’s a really good opportunity for Tyler, to get his career back on track and really experience something new,” Rowett told the South London Press.
“I think the football side of things could really suit him.
“He’s a talented young player, we know that. He just needs regular game time and maybe just a change of environment.
“It’s a good move for all parties. Hopefully he goes and shows what he is all about.”
Burey told Odense’s website: “I am ready to work hard and do the best I can for the team. I will go for it against any player in one-on-one situations – this is where my talent lies – and I am looking forward to showing what I can do with the ball.”
He scored three goals in 58 outings for Millwall after signing from AFC Wimbledon in 2019.
