Millwall boss Harris: “None of our players are for sale this summer”

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Millwall manager Neil Harris has re-iterated that the club have no intention of selling any of their players this summer.

Reports broke on Wednesday night that Rangers are ready to pay more than £1million for the 23-year-old centre-back.

Harris only made a brief comment to the South London Press on Thursday morning. He said: “It is press speculation. None of our players are for sale this summer.”

The Scottish outfit look set to lose Bruno Alves to Parma and it has been claimed that Cooper is the man wanted as a replacement by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who took over the managerial reigns in the summer.

The fee mentioned in relation to Cooper seems almost laughable.

Middlesbrough paid in the region of £7m to land Aden Flint from Bristol City while Brighton are thought to be ready to splash around £6m on Sheffield United’s Jack O’Connell.

Bristol City had to outlay an initial £3.5m to secure Ipswich’s Adam Webster.

Cooper was a standout performer for the Lions last season, forming a rock-solid centre-back partnership with Shaun Hutchinson.
