Millwall boss Neil Harris reckons his side have earned the right to dream about the play-offs after watching them earn a fifth straight away Championship victory following a 2-1 success at Hull City.

The Lions are six points adrift of the top-six but are just one win shy of equalling their club record for successive league triumphs on the road.

“They play for each other and play for us,” said Harris. “We played really well away from home before Christmas but couldn’t win. You start questioning yourself and start speaking to senior people who say keep doing it, keep doing it. Five straight away wins at this level is a great achievement and credit goes to my players for that.”

Asked about the possibility of the play-offs, the Millwall chief responded: “We are still a long way away. We have got to win a lot of games – a huge percentage of the ones we have got left. But the players are confident going into every game they can win. We’ve shown we are a match for anybody in this league.

“We play Brentford on Saturday and they keep talking about the play-offs and are only a point above us. It probably says we have an outside chance, we’re going to go for it.

“So many people in the press wrote us off to be bottom of the league, so to get to where we are with 10 games to go and five [straight] away wins is not bad.”
