Millwall boss Harris reveals ‘key’ priority as striker duo edging closer to squad selection
Neil Harris has emphasised the importance of getting Kevin Nisbet and Tom Bradshaw back into his Millwall matchday squad as soon as possible.
The duo have both been sidelined with injuries and it has left Burnley loanee Michael Obafemi as the only senior striker available.
But Nisbet and Bradshaw look set to boost the head coach’s options after this weekend’s Championship match at Huddersfield Town.
“Kevin and Tom are progressing really, really well on the grass,” Harris told the South London Press. “We are still looking at them being back with the group the end of next week – looking towards Cardiff and Sunderland.
“Aidomo Emakhu has been back in the group as well, having missed out for the last few games.
“We’ve had players that played with knocks over the Easter weekend because they put themselves forward – one or two of the lads will be really touch and go for the weekend. We pushed them over Easter to try and get the best possible results for the football club.
“The key one for me is getting Tom and Kevin back to fitness as quickly as possible. When you look at even Rotherham, they brought on Charlie Wyke, who has not been prolific this season but he is a Championship centre-forward.
“We have been very light in the attacking area of the pitch centre-forward wise, to maybe come and add that goal threat for us when you need to make a change in game.
“It’s going to be pivotal getting Tom and Kevin back fit as soon as possible.”
