Millwall boss has his say on idea of stopping injury-time substitutions
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Neil Harris is not in favour of the idea of scrapping substitutions in injury time – with the International Football Association Board looking at ways of cutting time-wasting.
“The authorities have got bigger fish to fry,” said the Millwall boss. “Let’s get referee decisions right first and VAR up and running, if we are going down that route.
“How about when a player gets a yellow card for a bad foul and that player needs treatment and then has to wait 30 seconds to come back on? How is that an advantage for the team who has won the free-kick?
“In terms of losing subs, how would it work if your player went off with a broken leg and you had to play with 10 men? There would be grey areas.”
