Millwall boss knows all about scoring threat of in-form Nottingham Forest striker

Millwall manager Neil Harris is fully aware of the threat of former Lion Lewis Grabban – with the striker looking to continue his run of goals for Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

The 30-year-old forward has netted four times in his last four outings including a double at the weekend in a 2-2 draw at Blackburn Rovers.

Grabban joined Forest in the summer from Bournemouth after spending the end of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Millwall boss Harris knows they need to keep their old player quiet at the City Ground.

“He is a super player at this level,” said the Lions chief. “He is a predator in the penalty area and a striker on form at the moment.

“But that is what you expect when you spend £6million on a player, you expect that quality in the final third. Grabbs certainly gives you that. He’s one of a number we need to shackle well on Wednesday night. They are a team who want to pass the ball, we’ve got to be at our best to stop them.”

Lee Gregory scored his second Championship goal of the campaign – and first since the opening day – in Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Sheffield United.

“It was a big boost for him and we saw it in his second half performance,” said Harris. “He was full of running and challenges. It gave him a confidence boost to be at his best. It is important for the team that we are scoring goals in the centre-forward position – we need to do more of that, that’s for sure.”

Ryan Leonard provided the assist for Gregory’s goal and put in a strong showing against his old club.

“He was excellent,” said Harris. “Full of energy, challenges and picking up second balls.

“There were so many positives about us. We have to continue after games to talk about those and try to build that momentum. We have late goals away and if we cut those out then there is no problem. We shot ourselves in the foot and that makes it very difficult. We have got to tidy that up.”
