Millwall boss on how much fans can read into his starting line-up against Ipswich Town

Gary Rowett has indicated his starting line-up for today’s friendly against Ipswich Town is unlikely to be the one that takes to the field against Stoke City on July 30.

The Lions have their final warm-up fixture before the Championship season starts next weekend.

“What we always try or want in the last game is for it to be against a good, strong League One team – as close as you can get to a Championship match,” Rowett told the South London Press. “That is what it will be. I know Kieran [McKenna] at Ipswich and they’ll be motivated and very well organised and set up.

“It will be a good game for us again. I don’t necessarily read massive amounts into the game. It’s a chance for us to get a slightly stronger team out for a little bit longer and have a look at one or two bits. Will it be the team for the first game of the season? I doubt it. But we’ll get a little bit closer to it.”
