Millwall boss on transfer deal for midfielder: ‘He is a ready-made Championship player’
Millwall head coach Neil Harris has given his verdict on the loan addition of Ryan Wintle.
The Cardiff City midfielder, 27, signed yesterday for the Lions for the remainder of this season.
Wintle played 44 matches last season for the Welsh club and has clocked up 117 appearances in total since joining them from Crewe in 2021.
Harris told the South London Press: “He is a ready-made Championship player that has played at a very good level – performance-wise – over the whole of last season.
“With losing Billy to injury at the start of pre-season we have been very light over the first few weeks in the middle of the park. We feel we have got two very talented young players in Alfie Massey and Dan Kelly but, as always, we need to be patient and develop players at the right times.
“Billy is not going to be back until October time, so we felt it was important we’ve got support for Casper and for George.
“Ryan is a player that knows how to play the position. He has got a very good passing range and reads the game very well. He was very, very excited about coming.”
