Millwall can make it six successive home league wins in second tier for first time since February 2011

Millwall are bidding to make it six successive Championship wins in a row at The Den for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

The Lions last achieved the feat in England’s second tier between December and February more than a decade ago.

Gary Rowett’s team have not lost in SE16 since the 1-0 reverse to Swansea City at the start of April.

“Our aim is to win every game at home, it has to be,” said Lions boss Rowett. “We know the attitude, atmosphere and everything together – that little bit of synergy with the fans – that there is a lot more demand on the team.

“We’ve been able to step up and perform really well in front of them, results-wise as well as performance-wise. Very different games as well. You’ve seen some game we’ve been very comfortable and other ones where we’ve had to have a bit of adversity, often in the second half of games, and we’ve managed to show the character and determination to get back in the game and win it.

“We’re proud of it and realise records are there to be broken. We’re certainly not making a big issue of it ourselves because we’ve got to keep maintaining those performances. We just want to win every game.

“It’s nice to be able to share that [home form] with some of the players we tried to sign in the summer, to show what we’re about. We need to get better results on the road but at the same time if you win your home games in this division then the reality is you’re not going to be a million miles away.

“The problem with football is nothing stays the same forever. You can win 20 games at home but there is no-one then not saying you’re going to lose the next three. You’ve got to work hard to protect and keep doing the right things.

“One of the biggest factors at home is that we’ve played with a less less fear and freedom, not worried about it. We don’t want any run to feel like we’re protecting a run rather than just going out to win every game, that’s the important bit.

“Hopefully the fans have been pleased with our performances.”
