Steve Morison has confirmed he wants to carry on playing next season – but reckons the discussion over his Millwall future is still to come.
The 35-year-old has been a huge part of the Lions’ success in recent years.
But with Lee Gregory set to leave this summer on a free transfer – it looks an area of the pitch in a state of flux for the South Londoners.
Morison formed a really successful front pairing with Gregory during Neil Harris’ Den reign. But the club captain has seen his minutes managed far more in the 2018-19 campaign.
Millwall’s 2018-19 End of Season awards nights takes place at The Den tonight.
“After the awards dinner I fly to America for the next two weeks and that’s about as much as I know,” said Morison. “I know the gaffer is having meetings on Monday and Tuesday. I’m not on the list to have that meeting.
“So I will wait. I presume I’ll see him tonight and maybe something will get mentioned to me then.
“I’ve had texts from a couple of people asking what I’m doing next. It is very definitely going to be playing football.”
See Friday’s South London Press for the full interview with Morison.
