Millwall defender has “Premier League athleticism and quality”
Gary Rowett has talked about Joe Bryan’s Premier League attributes after the summer signing scored his first goal for Millwall in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Hull City.
The former Fulham full-back struck in the second half to earn the Lions a point in their last Championship action before the international break.
It was Bryan’s first goal in English football since scoring against Manchester United in May 2021. He did net once for Nice in September 2022.
The 30-year-old made the move to SE16 on July 1 after being released by Fulham.
Millwall manager Rowett said: “It’s a lovely finish because he shapes to shoot and then just chops it inside the defender, he fakes it to go past them.
“The first bit was really, really nice composure and the finish was one to match – power and accuracy.
“Joe is a really good player. We know he has got Premier League athleticism and quality.
“Certainly that wing-back position really, really suits his style of play and his ability to get forward.”
