Millwall defender set to be fit for Crystal Palace derby – but duo not eligible to feature in FA Cup tie

Joe Bryan is set to be fit for Millwall’s FA Cup tie at Crystal Palace this weekend.

The former Fulham and Bristol City defender came off in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Derby County due to a gash on his foot following a challenge by Ryan Nyambe.

Lions head coach Alex Neil said after the match that Nyambe’s tackle was “poor” and that the Rams player could easily have seen red instead of the yellow card issued.

But the Scot had positive news today about Bryan’s prospects of being available for the derby at Selhurst Park.

Neil told the South London Press: “I think Joe will be fine. He might not train in the early part of this week, but I fully expect him to be ready for the game.”

Ra’ees Bangura-Williams and Aaron Connolly were both not in the matchday squad at Derby.

“Injury for both,” said Neil. “Ra’ees came off at Preston. He wasn’t quite right.

“Aaron had a nerve problem, but he’s cup-tied anyway – so he won’t be involved.”

January signing Tristan Crama is also not eligible to play in the competition having already featured in it during a loan spell at Exeter City.

The Frenchman has been playing at right-back due to injuries to Ryan Leonard and Danny McNamara.
