Millwall have transfer agreement with Tottenham for defender Japhet Tanganga

Millwall have agreed a fee with Tottenham for Japhet Tanganga.

The next hurdle facing the Lions is agreeing terms with the centre-back.

The Lions sorted out the transfer at the start of the week.

Tanganga, 25, is due to be out of contract this summer but Spurs have the option to extend his contract by a further 12 months, ensuring they are liable for a fee.

The former England U21 international is not going to break back into the first-team picture in north London and so will make a move this summer.

But it is expected that Tanganga, who made 18 appearances for Millwall in the second half of the campaign, will have options abroad to mull over.

He has featured 24 times at Premier League level for Tottenham.

Tanganga temporarily joined German club Augsburg on September 1 but cut short his stay at the turn of the year after failing to play a single minute for the Bundesliga outfit.
