Millwall keen on summer deal for rising star in Scottish football
Millwall are interested in a summer deal for Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson.
The 22-year-old Scottish international is one of several targets the Championship side are actively pursuing.
The Lions have bid for Ferguson, who still has two years to run on his contract.
The former Hamilton youngster reportedly submitted a written transfer request after Watford were knocked back last summer.
Ferguson scored 16 goals in all competitions for Aberdeen last season, making 45 appearances.
He was nominated for PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year in 2019.
Italian side Cagliari were linked with Ferguson last season.
Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin has indicated they have no desire to lose the offence-minded player.
“I’d love Lewis to stay here and work closely with him next season because I think he’s a big influence on the team,” said Goodwin in March.
“Lewis is still extremely ambitious. If we can get him back to playing consistently like he did against Hibs every week, to being one of the most influential players on the pitch, then that would get him even more recognition from bigger teams out there.
“He’s got a valuation. There’s been plenty of speculation in windows gone by about Fergie going here, there or everywhere. But until someone meets the valuation that we put on him, then he’ll remain an Aberdeen player.
“We always want to try to hang on to our best players. At the same time, we’re realistic about the situation as well.”
