Millwall loan ace Burey could be out until December after hamstring injury

Tyler Burey is set for a scan to determine the extent of a hamstring injury that he suffered in Hartlepool United’s 1-0 defeat against Tranmere Rovers.

Burey has scored three goals so far for the Pools, after joining on loan until January 2022.

He came off in the 65th minute of Saturday’s loss, his seventh game for the north-east side.

Hartlepool manager Dave Challinor told BBC Radio Tees Sport: “It looks probably grade two. He’ll be scanned, whether it will be here or at Millwall.

“Best case scenario, two weeks. Worst case scenario, probably eight to twelve weeks. Without having a scan it would be stupid to speculate on that.

“We think it’s a grade two, not a grade three. It’s certainly not a good one.

“It’s never ideal, things are set to challenge you and test you. We can’t complain and we just have to get on with it. Injuries and suspensions are just part and parcel of football and we’ve got to deal with it as best we can.

“One person’s suffering is another person’s opportunity and I’ll be looking at the players within the group to make sure that he poses questions through the week to decide who plays in the game next week at The Vic.”
