Millwall loan hit set for Burnley transfer
Burnley are reportedly in advanced talks with Arsenal over a deal for Daniel Ballard, who spent last season on loan at Millwall.
The 22-year-old made 33 appearances and scored one goal for the Lions.
Millwall manager Gary Rowett admitted he was interested in a permanent move for the Northern Ireland international but the South London club’s priority at the start of the window is strengthening their attacking options.
The Athletic are reporting that Vincent Kompany has played a critical part in persuading Ballard to join Burnley.
They add that the deal is at an advanced stage and that Ballard is set to undergo a medical at Turf Moor.
Ballard has never made a competitive appearance for Arsenal’s first-team but previously had a loan spell with Blackpool when they won promotion via the League One play-offs.
