Millwall may consider winger loan exit in January transfer window

Millwall are set to weigh up whether Adam Mayor needs a loan move at the start of 2025.

The 19-year-old attacker signed for the Lions in the January transfer window but injuries have restricted him to just four substitute appearances.

Prior to that Mayor had scored six league goals in 57 matches for Morecambe.

He has not featured this season after picking up a hamstring injury in July.

“I know Adam well from seeing him at Morecambe – I know what kind of player he is and the type of attributes he has got,” Millwall head coach Neil Harris told the South London Press.

“He came on at Rotherham (last season), made an impact and was involved in the lead up to the goal.

“For a young man, and a wide player with Millwall attributes, he just hasn’t been fortunate with injuries and opportunities at the moment.

“He will certainly be one we look at in January – what is best for him? Is it best for him to be here with us and try and effect the first team? Or is he one that needs to go out, play some football and build his development that way.

“We possibly might see Adam next week but probably more likely to be after the international break.”
