Millwall medical tomorrow for Leeds United midfielder Jamie Shackleton ahead of season-long loan switch

Millwall have agreed a season-long loan deal for Leeds United midfielder Jamie Shackleton.

The 22-year-old, who can also play at right-back, is expected in the capital tomorrow to complete a medical.

Shackleton will become the second Leeds player to join the Lions on a temporary basis with England U21 international centre-back Charlie Cresswell making the same switch earlier in the transfer window.

But Millwall look set to be in a strong position to turn the former England U20 international’s stay in SE16 into a permanent arrangement if he impresses.

Shackleton started training with United at the age of seven. He made his first-team debut in a 4-1 win over Derby in August 2018.

Shackleton made 48 appearances in all competitions for Leeds in the next two seasons, featuring 22 times in the second one as Marcelo Bielsa’s side surged to the Championship title.

The Leeds-born player signed a four-year contract extension with Leeds in August 2020.
