Millwall midfielder set to miss home game against Blackburn Rovers
Maikel Kieftenbeld is unlikely to be fit for Millwall’s home game against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
The Dutch midfielder has sat out the last six Championship matches with a hamstring injury.
“Maikel is taking a little bit of time to heal and there is a little fluid on the hamstring,” said Lions boss Gary Rowett. “Until the fluid goes he can’t really kick on. It has been a slow, frustrating situation for him and for us.
“Bradders [Tom Bradshaw] was still feeling a little sore yesterday, so he’ll be touch and go for Saturday. He has a bit of tendonitis in his achilles tendon. Mase [Mason Bennett] had a slight achilles towards the end of the game [on Tuesday] but I don’t anticipate that being a problem, although we have to be mindful of the amount of games.
“Coops [Jake Cooper] came through fine. That went unnoticed a little bit. It was a huge plus. It gives him another three to four days to strengthen. The more games he gets through the more strengthening he can do and that improves his chances of getting fit.”
