Millwall release Northern Ireland international Shane Ferguson

Shane Ferguson is being released by Millwall – following Shaun Williams and Frank Fielding out of the Den exit door.

The 29-year-old left-footer, who can play on the wing or in a defensive role, made just 13 Championship appearances in the season just completed.

Ferguson initially joined Millwall on loan from Newcastle before making it a permanent switch in January 2016.

The Northern Ireland international, capped 47 times by his country, has played 217 times for the Lions and scored 12 goals.

Ferguson was part of the Millwall squad which won promotion to the Championship in 2017, beating Bradford City in the League One play-off final.
