Millwall set to quickly assess fitness of Romain Esse and Femi Azeez – as pair come off in win over Plymouth
Millwall are set to asses Romain Esse and Femi Azeez after the pair both came off in the second half of tonight’s 1-0 win over Plymouth at The Den.
Attacker Esse scored the clinching goal in the first period, converting from George Honeyman’s cutback. The 19-year-old is on four goals this season – with the Lions victorious in three of the four matches he has found the net.
Both both summer signing Azeez and the matchwinner both came off after receiving treatment. Esse was limping as he made his exit from the pitch.
Millwall are back in action on Saturday at Swansea City.
“Romain just showed that moment of quality in the final third,” said Harris.
“With Dunc (Watmore) not being here it just showed our limitations at the top end of the pitch, with the changes we were forced to make.
“We hope Romain and Femi will come through and be okay for the weekend.
“But the players report again tomorrow morning at Calmont and we’ll have a better picture of whether they are going to be available or not.
“Dunc was not here for family reasons – positive family reasons, which I’ll hopefully share more on in the coming days.”
