Millwall are set to sign AFC Bournemouth winger Connor Mahoney for a seven-figure sum.

The Lions made the 22-year-old former England U20 international one of their top summer transfer targets.

And Millwall have trumped interest from elsewhere to bring Mahoney into their Championship squad.

The Lions have been looking to add a wideman to their ranks and the addition of the former Accrington and Blackburn Rovers man – one of the top crossers in the Championship last season during an impressive loan at Birmingham City – will tick off another area that manager Neil Harris was looking to strengthen.

Mahoney can play on the right or left wing and featured 32 times for Birmingham, scoring twice and collecting four assists.

The Lions have made serious headway in the transfer market in the past couple of weeks with experienced former Bristol City goalkeeper and QPR targetman Matt Smith both snapped up.

And Mahoney’s creativity will help provide the chances for Millwall’s new-look frontline.
