Millwall striker major injury doubt for West Brom clash after being forced off in Rotherham win

Gary Rowett expects Kevin Nisbet to miss Saturday’s game at West Brom after he was forced off during Millwall’s 3-0 win over Rotherham United tonight.

The striker was forced off in the 55th minute after landing awkwardly. He went down with no one around him and was clutching his ankle in pain. However, he could walk off the pitch to be replaced by Duncan Watmore.

However, Rowett expects him to miss Saturday’s game at West Brom ahead of a scan.

“I’ve just watched it again down there, there’s no one around him. He almost turns his ankle – it looks quite bad, said Rowett.

“I don’t know until a couple of days settles down. I’d imagine he’s going to be out, certainly for the weekend and then, depending on the scan results, we will see. It didn’t look great, but it’s impossible for me to say at this moment in time.”

Brooke Norton-Cuffy also had to be replaced by Danny McNamara but the Lions boss said that was just down to cramp and that there was not too much concern for the Arsenal loanee.

“Brooke was a bit of cramp, so his wasn’t too much of a concern,” added Rowett.

“He’s a bit like Ryan Longman – he hasn’t played loads of football. I think you can see two or three just getting their feet with game time and minutes.”
