Millwall striker Zak Lovelace – just 15 – will be on bench for Championship match at Coventry City

Millwall are expected to name 15-year-old striker Zak Lovelace on their bench for tonight’s match at Coventry City.

The Lions were unsuccessful in their application to get the fixture called off after being hit by a spate of injuries and Covid-19 cases.

And Lovelace, who does not turn 16 until January 23, has travelled with Gary Rowett’s squad for the Championship fixture.

The forward joined Millwall’s academy at the age of 13 in July 2019. Prior to that he had been at Crystal Palace and Brighton.

Lovelace has trained with the Lions’ first-team on several occasions and has represented the club at U16, U18 and U23 level this season.

His scoring record is an impressive one – 21 goals in 19 appearances, 17 of those starts.
