Millwall striker’s return from injury is not imminent

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Tom Elliott is still at least a fortnight away from a playing return for Millwall.

The big striker will be in the final six months of his Den deal from the start of January and had looked surplus to requirements under previous Lions manager Neil Harris.

Elliott has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and his only appearance this season was in the EFL Cup defeat to Oxford at the end of August.

Millwall boss Gary Rowett said: “Tom is bombing around the training ground and looking quite good – it’s that last 10 per cent of speed you need that can be the major bit.

“He has done everything up to about 85-90 per cent. He is probably two to three weeks away from getting into training, at least. It is hard to rush that type of injury. Tom is desperate to be back involved.”
