Millwall suffer yet another injury setback as defender set to miss Swansea City match

Millwall defender Murray Wallace looks set to miss Saturday’s home game against Swansea City after picking up a knock in last weekend’s draw at West Brom.

The Lions are already without experienced centre-back Shaun Hutchinson.

Wallace had formed a central defensive three with Jake Cooper and Ryan Leonard, who is already playing away from his more natural position of midfield.

Millwall’s injury list is adding up with Tom Bradshaw pulling his hamstring at The Hawthorns while summer signing Kevin Nisbet was forced off in last week’s 3-0 win over Rotherham with an ankle problem.

The Championship club are also without goalkeeper Matija Sarkic and midfielder George Honeyman.

“Tom felt his hamstring and that looks like it is going to take until the international break to resolve,” Lions boss Gary Rowett told the South London Press. “It could’ve been a lot worse but it could’ve been a lot better also, not having him out for a period of time at all.

“Murray has also picked up an issue within the game and he’s another one who could miss the next three. Hopefully he might not miss the next three – but that is the original prognosis. It’s disappointing. I’ve spoken about injuries being a factor and once again it is going to be a factor even more.”
