Millwall through to League Cup second round after 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion

Millwall sing ‘no one likes us, we don’t care’ – but they love it at The Hawthorns.

Just three days after earning a 1-1 draw at West Brom in the Championship, they came from behind to knock the same opposition out of the League Cup.

Charlie Austin headed the Baggies ahead within nine minutes on his debut after keeper Luke Steele dropped Grady Diangana’s piledriver on to the bar.

But striker Tom Bradshaw levelled on 28 from Jiri Skalak’s free-kick with his first goal for the club, a year after joining the club.

Millwall, showing eight changes from the weekend, thought they had fell behind again within three minutes, but Semi Ajayi’s header for the Baggies was disallowed for a foul in the box.

The Lions continued to probe and West Brom keeper Jonathan Bond superbly denied Skalak and Aiden O’Brien in a matter of seconds.

O’Brien bundled in the winner on 55 minutes after West Brom allowed Skalak’s corner to bounce deep in the box and it hit Murray Wallace on the thigh.
