Millwall trio set to be in contention to face Leicester City in EFL Cup

Millwall are set to have Shaun Hutchinson, Benik Afobe and George Evans back in contention for Wednesday’s EFL Cup game against Leicester City.

The trio all missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Coventry City, with Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo also ruled out due to illness.

Hutchinson was an unused substitute against the Sky Blues.

Millwall manager Gary Rowett said: “Hutch has trained all week. I could’ve started him today but I felt it could be a step too quick when we’ve got Wednesday’s game. Dan [Ballard] made it just about fit, with his eye.

“Danny McNamara should train Monday. Benik should train Monday. George Evans should train Monday. Sheyi Ojo should be available for next Saturday, the Forest game.

“We will put a team out there to win the game on Wednesday, but I don’t necessarily think it is a massive priority for us. Again, we want to try and win every game.

“By next Saturday our squad should look a lot healthier.

“We’re getting results and we’re not easy to play against, but we’re certainly not playing as well overall as I’d like to. When the options come back I think we’ll improve.”
