Millwall winger Burey could do with “fresh start” as summer transfer window exit is possibility

Millwall manager Gary Rowett says that Tyler Burey may benefit from a “fresh start” away from the SE16 club, writes Richard Cawley.

We exclusively revealed that the Lions had accepted a bid at the end of last week with Oxford United targeting the former AFC Wimbledon youngster.

Burey featured 26 times last season for Millwall and his pace and directness would have a real impact in England’s third tier.

The Lions would have a significant sell-on as part of any deal.

“Tyler has been in and around the squad and starting line-up for probably a couple of seasons now,” Rowett told the South London Press. “For any young player, at some point, maybe they just need that fresh start and opportunity to play games on a more regular basis.

“It’s something that I think we’re probably looking at, with Tyler, and I think it would be something that he is keen on. Whether that opportunity works (for Burey to leave), I’m not sure.”
