Millwall won’t be offering new deal to former Blackburn, Birmingham and Bournemouth winger
Connor Mahoney is set to leave Millwall this summer with the former Blackburn, Birmingham and Bournemouth winger due to be a free agent at the end of July.
The South London Press understands that the Lions will not offer the 25-year-old new terms. The news comes as no surprise with Mahoney struggling to command regular game time with the Championship outfit.
The club were ready to listen to offers for him in the January transfer window but, unlike in the cases of Matt Smith and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, interest failed to materialise.
Mahoney has played just 203 minutes of league football this season and not made the bench for the last two fixtures now that the injuries have cleared up in the Millwall squad.
Mahoney’s last start for the Lions came in the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest at the end of September.
Since the turn of the year the attacker has featured for 49 minutes in the Championship.
Mahoney has scored five goals and got seven assists in 68 appearances for Millwall since he signed for an undisclosed fee from Bournemouth in July 2019.
