Millwall’s Jed Wallace is ‘touch and go’ to be ready to play at Blackpool

Jed Wallace looks set to miss Millwall’s Championship match at Blackpool on Saturday.

The influential attacker has not played since December 11 due to a quad injury.

Wallace had trained in the early part of last week but again felt an issue in the area the day before the Nottingham Forest match. A scan showed he had a small tear in the muscle.

Asked if Wallace, the subject of two bids from Forest in the current transfer window, would be available for the fixture against the Seasiders, Rowett told the South London Press: “Touch and go whether he would be available this weekend, it probably looks unlikely.

“When he did the injury, because it is the second injury to the quad, then you’re probably looking at a couple of weeks rather than seven to 10 days, which the first one was.

“Hopefully he’ll be available for the game after that.”

But there is better news in terms of defender Murray Wallace (shoulder) and midfielder George Saville (neck and back).

“Muz had quite a bad sprain to his shoulder,” said Rowett. “He looked uncomfortable in training the other day. But, to be fair to Murray, he’s a tough cookie .

“He led the way for a lot of people because you could see he was in pain but he cracked on and got through it.

“I don’t anticipate him pulling out. If he does it’s obviously quite a serious injury. I expect him and George Saville to train today.”
