Millwall’s Jed Wallace signs four-year contract at West Bromwich Albion – as move made official

Jed Wallace has completed his move to West Bromwich Albion, signing a four-year contract.

Millwall had made a significant offer to the 28-year-old in the hope that he would extend his stay in SE16.

But instead Wallace, who also had interest from Burnley, has opted to join the Baggies.

The former Portsmouth and Wolves attacker made 259 appearances for the Lions and scored 42 goals.

Nottingham Forest wanted Wallace in the January transfer window, seeing two bids rejected, but did not come back with a fresh offer after their promotion to the Premier League.

West Brom manager Steve Bruce said: “Jed will be a massive asset to our team, and I’m absolutely delighted to get him through the door. He is somebody who I’ve admired for a long time and have tried to sign before. He’s got pace, power, penetration in the final third and, above all, is a top pro.

“To have secured our two primary targets in Jed and John Swift is terrific, and to get these deals both done before the squad return for pre-season is testament to the hard work being done behind the scenes by Ron Gourlay and the recruitment team.”
