More bad news for Brighton midfielder – whose loan move to Charlton has started disastrously

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Beram Kayal is set to be missing for another two months – topping off a miserable start to his Charlton Athletic loan move.

The Israeli international needed an injection while he was away on duty with his country and Addicks boss Lee Bowyer admitted earlier this week Kayal’s injury was not as “straightforward” as first thought.

And the South London Press understands that the Brighton midfielder – who is on a season-long deal in SE7 – is set to undergo surgery which will sideline him for around seven or eight weeks.

The 31-year-old has made just two starts for Charlton and played a total of 211 minutes.

It has been a similar tale of woe with Tomer Hemed, signed on a 12-month deal at the end of the summer transfer window. He has played 220 minutes and is yet to score.
