Nathan Ferguson rocked by new long-term injury – Crystal Palace defender facing months on the sidelines

Nathan Ferguson’s injury-ravaged Crystal Palace career has suffered another setback which is set to rule him out until at least the end of 2021.

The former West Bromwich Albion right-back, 20, has not played a single competitive minute for the Eagles since signing on a three-year contract in July 2020.

Ferguson needed major knee surgery and then had a thigh problem which kept him out of contention.

But the former England U20 international had been back in full training as the Premier League season came towards a close.

Now The Athletic have reported that Ferguson has torn his achilles and is set to have surgery this week.

Eberechi Eze did the same injury in training and may not be back until February.

Ferguson has not played since a 2-1 loss against Cardiff City on January 28, 2020 but was thought to be set to make Palace’s squad for their 2-0 loss at Liverpool on Sunday.
