Neil Critchley left frustrated after QPR’s stalemate at Cardiff City

QPR head coach Neil Critchley said his overriding emotion was frustration after their 0-0 draw at Cardiff City on Boxing Day.

The result leaves the R’s seventh in the Championship table and level on points with Norwich City and Millwall, fifth and sixth respectively.

“We’re frustrated, if I’m honest,” Critchley told QPR’s official website.

“In the first half, we had good control of the game and felt that if we improved in certain areas in the second half, we could go on and win the game.

“Unfortunately, we couldn’t do that and Cardiff were the better team in the second half. That was partly down to them and partly down to us, as well.

“In the end, a point – and a clean sheet – away from home is something we’ll take, all things considered. But we’ve got to improve on what we showed in the second half.

“We’ve got ability on the pitch, you saw that in the first half. We controlled the game.

“But, even though we threatened, we didn’t get to the goal enough.

“In the second half, Cardiff seemed to get on top of us and we turned the ball over too many times. We created problems for ourselves that we didn’t need to.

“We had some promising situations late on where we could have nicked it, but overall a point was a fair result.”
