Nigel Adkins: Charlie Kirk at Crewe Alexandra is one of many talented players Charlton Athletic have tracked
BY LOUIS MENDEZ
Charlton manager Nigel Adkins admitted that he has been tracking Crewe Alexandra’s Charlie Kirk when questioned on reports linking the winger with a move to The Valley.
The winger was missing from Crewe’s matchday squad for their home draw with Cheltenham Town this afternoon.
The Addicks had previously been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who has scored 32 goals in 203 appearances for the Alex.
When asked if Kirk is a player he admires, Adkins said: “He’s a player that we’ve always liked. There’s a lot of players out there. There’s three weeks left of the transfer window.
“There’s a lot of players that we’ve been after, a lot of players that we’ve gone and tracked who’ve maybe gone elsewhere to different clubs.
“I didn’t see that he didn’t play today. From my point of view, you’re asking me a question about him – he’s one of many talented footballers that we’ve gone and tracked.”
