Nigel Adkins reveals damage as Diallang Jaiyesimi and Ryan Inniss are forced off during defeat to Peterborough

Charlton manager Nigel Adkins has revealed why Ryan Inniss and Diallang Jaiyesimi were both forced from the field during the 1-0 home defeat against Peterborough.
Winger Jaiyesimi was withdrawn midway through the first-period at The Valley, with Albie Morgan taking his place on the right.
Inniss, who has recently returned from a long spell on the side-lines, limped off six minutes from time.
“Ryan Inniss, everybody saw him limping,” explained Adkins.
“I’m putting Conor Washington on. I could have maybe said just keep going Ryan, but if he’d broke down then I couldn’t have made another substitution. So, I thought we’re in the ascendancy anyway. He was limping badly, he’s jarred his knee. I just put Akin on there which I didn’t think was an issue.
“[For Jaiyesimi] – it’s early days, he’s had to come off the pitch. We’ll assess him and see where we are. He’s been in great form as well so it’s a big blow for us. Just a bit before that he was holding his leg a little bit. He couldn’t continue. Hopefully we’ve taken him off quickly enough that he doesn’t miss any more but it’s going to be a soft-tissue and we all know it will be a period of time that will rule him out for some of the games.”
