‘No bad blood’ – Former Fulham midfielder leaves QPR by mutual consent
QPR club captain Stefan Johansen has left the club following the mutual termination of his contract.
The 32-year-old initially joined the west Londoners from Fulham on loan in January 2021 and made the move to Loftus Road permanent at the end of the 2021-22 season.
Norwegian Johansen scored two goals in 30 appearances for the Championship club last season. He made a total of 88 appearances during his time with the club.
QPR’s director of football Les Ferdinand recently left the club, with Gareth Ainsworth’s side set for a big overhaul this summer.
“There is no bad blood at all,” he told the club website.
“I have had conversations with the club and I think it’s time to move on.
“It suits all parties that I am leaving now. I have had a great time but do wish that I could have achieved what I came here to do, which was promotion to the Premier League.
“From the moment Gareth (Ainsworth) walked through the door we got on really well. We respect each other and have a strong relationship. He is a great guy and I leave the club with him as a good friend.”
